As a Mortgage Underwriter at our company, your role will involve underwriting mortgage business and managing the portfolio in the assigned branch/location. You will be responsible for reviewing and assessing a broad range of complex loan applications, conducting personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness, and maintaining Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other operations-related MIS of the cluster. Your key responsibilities will include: - Reviewing and assessing loan applications and making decisions or recommendations for approval - Underwriting proposals in accordance with policies and procedures to meet agreed SLAs and manage business volumes - Conducting personal discussions with customers and ensuring completion of credit/KYC documents - Assessing income to obligation ratios, loan to value ratios, and understanding the impact on loan performance - Building effective relationships with third parties to facilitate the best outcomes for clients - Taking ownership of client queries, overcoming challenges, and exceeding service quality standards - Facilitating critical review of credit proposals and ensuring credit risk mitigation - Enabling quick turnaround time of credit lending proposals for mortgage business - Managing the credit underwriting function of the branch and facilitating quick turnaround of credit lending proposals - Following up and ensuring recovery of quick mortality cases Qualifications required for this role include a Graduate or Masters/Post Graduate degree.
