Manager - Legal Affairs/Legal Counsel

Job Description

Role & responsibilities Drafting, reviewing, vetting and negotiating various commercial contracts with our domestic and international customers and suppliers, including but not limited to, Non-Disclosure Agreements, terms and conditions, Operations & Maintenance agreements, BPA, MPA, MOUs, RFQs, service agreements, subcontractor agreements, license agreements, administrative agreements etc.; Provide support in defending the organization in lawsuits/legal claims as well as in the prosecution of lawsuits on behalf of the organization against others; Conduct, research and provide interpretations, opinions and recommendations on business operations issues and on legislation and regulations that may affect the organization; Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the companys legality and business ethics; Prepare and conduct trainings for staff and management on legal related topics; Management of legal affairs of the company by providing legal support, proactively improve legal processes through simplification, standardization of model contracts (templates, toolkits, playbooks); Select and liaise with the external lawyers, legal counsels and law firms in seeking legal support and cooperation; Ensures, all legal documentation , contracts is accurate and comply with relevant laws and business laws; Working with cross functional teams on business topics; Communication and dealings with local persons, local bodies, MIDC, gram panchayats, and town planning office, zilla parishad, and district collectorate office, civil courts, labour courts, tehsil office, district courts, high courts, industrial courts, tribunals, quasi-judicial bodies etc.; Leading legal matters pertaining Land Matters , Property taxes, PMRDA, Local bodies, Rates Taxes, Cess matters, town planning, Government liaising and registrations addressing complex legal issues proposing solutions; Preferred candidate profile Bachelor's degree /LLB (Bachelors of laws) from reputed universities (Masters degree in laws will be preferred) 7 to 12 years of working experience, preferred in an automotive component or precision product manufacturing multinational company, proofing the ability to handle legal affairs independently Admission to the bar-council Compliance Management tools (legatrix) and with computer proficiency is a must
