Job Description

We are looking for an EXIM Manager for our International Business at Vadilal Industries Ltd , based at our Corporate Office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat . Position: EXIM-Manager Department: International Business. Reporting: AGM-Operations Timings: 5:00 pm to 2:00 am (Night Shift) Location: Ahmedabad, Corporate Office Overview: The Import/Export Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's import and export operations, ensuring compliance with US regulations and international trade laws. The role involves overseeing shipment coordination, customs documentation, cost management, and improving logistics processes while adhering to relevant US government regulations such as those set by the U.S. Customs, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other federal agencies. Job Description: Imports & Exports Compliance: Ensure compliance with US trade regulations, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Prepare and review import and export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. Stay up-to-date on changes in US customs regulations and other trade barriers. Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records of import and export transactions. Ensure proper filing and storage of all shipping and customs documentation as required by US regulations. Oversee the accuracy of documentation related to export controls. Work with customs brokers to ensure compliance with CBP entry requirements and accurate HTS codes. Shipment Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to manage the smooth flow of import/export shipments. Arrange transportation of goods from ports to warehouses and track shipments to ensure timely delivery. Manage compliance with international regulations for foreign shipments while ensuring that US standards are met for incoming goods. Customs Clearance & Duty Management: Handle customs clearance processes and ensure proper documentation and payment of duties/taxes. Review and process all import/export declarations, ensuring alignment with US customs regulations. and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to negotiate competitive rates. Evaluate vendor performance and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and compliance. Cost Management: Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure competitive pricing. Monitor and control shipping costs to stay within budget. Optimize duty payments by ensuring accurate classification and value declarations. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with US trade laws. Leverage best practices and technologies in supply chain and logistics to improve operations. Stay updated on trade laws, tariff changes, particularly in relation to US regulations. Risk Management & Audit: Monitor global trade risks and ensure compliance with import/export regulations to minimize penalties and delays. Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits related to trade compliance. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in international business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Experience: 10-15 years of experience in import/export management with a strong focus on US trade regulations. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), ITAR, EAR, and OFAC. Skills: Excellent knowledge of import/export documentation and customs procedures. Strong negotiation skills with shipping lines and freight forwarders.
