Manager - Electricity Tariff and Regulatory Affairs

An Industry body of Manufacturers of Metals, Alloys, Cement, etc., which are

major electricity consumers, is seeking able and qualified candidates for the

post of Manager - Electricity Regulatory affairs for its head office in Guwahati, Assam.

We seek experienced professionals with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the

Electricity / Power Sector (Electricity Power Distribution / Power Purchase Management, Commercial & other Regulatory Issues).

The Candidates are required to have prior experience and knowledge of Annual Tariff

Fixation, ARR Analysis, Tariff Analysis, IEX, Open Access, dealing with State Regulatory Commissions, State Electricity Boards, PPAs, etc. along with experience of pursuing cases and matters at State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, High Courts, APTEL and Supreme Court.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

- Coordinate for Electricity Regulatory matters for annual fixation of Tariff and Other related issues with SERCs

- Thorough Knowledge of the complete Indian Electricity Act

- Knowledge of National Tariff Policy

- Preparing / vetting/ analysis for Filing of Petitions at SERCs, HC, APTEL, SC, etc.

- Reading, Analysis and summaries of Legal Orders

- Must be Aware of all current Electricity Related Affairs

- Facilitate and coordinate for Power Purchase Agreements

- Coordinate fixation of Cross Subsidy Surcharge, Additional Surcharge, STU, FPPAS, etc.

- Knowledge of latest ISTS Projects

- Vetting and preparation of Tariff Petition replies

- Analysis and knowledge of category wise tariff at different states

- Should be updated about the latest trends/changes in the power sector regulatory scenario including the new policy notifications, Electricity Act Amendments, new Regulations, key judgements of higher courts, etc.

- Analysis of ARRs and Tariff Petition

- Analysis of Orders from State Regulatory Commissions• Must be Aware of all current Electricity Regulatory and Related Affairs Facilitate and coordinate Power Purchase Agreements for electricity

- Knowledge of the latest ISTS Projects

- Vetting and preparation of Tariff Petition replies

- Thorough Analysis of Documents led by the Electricity Board with the State

Regulatory Commissions such as Trueing up, ARRs, Transmission Tariffs, Generation

Tariffs and Distribution Tariffs

- Analysis and knowledge of category-wise tariffs in different states and make

comparison charts

- Should be well versed with the latest trends/changes in the power sector regulatory scenario including the new policy notifications, Electricity Act Amendments, new Regulations, key judgments of higher courts, etc.

- Presentation during Tariff Hearing both physical or online

Job Requirements:

- Should have Strong written and oral communications skills

- Expertise in policy/ tariff/ regulatory matters/ power purchase/ commercial/

generation/ coal business in Power Distribution/Generation

- Prior Experience Representing Cases/Parties of SERC (State Electricity Regulatory

Commission) & CERC (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission).

- Prior Experience in power related liaison with relevant bodies

- Prior power sector consulting experience in a firm of repute preferred

Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years of Experience in handling Legal Issues related to the Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Educational Requirements:

B. TECH in Electrical Engineering/ CA/ CMA/ MBA (Finance/ Power / Energy)

with PG Diploma from National Power Training Institute

OR

Post Graduate Diploma in Power Management

Salary Range: 10 to 18 Lakhs per Annum
