About The Role - Grade Specific The Major Incident Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the response to critical incidents that have a significant impact on business operations. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication, and implementing incident management best practices to minimize the impact of disruptions. Incident : Rapidly assess and identify major incidents, classifying their impact and urgency. Collaborate with relevant teams to gather information and understand the scope of the incident. Primary Skills 1. Incident Coordination Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams during the resolution of major incidents. Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to address critical issues promptly. Maintain a centralized incident log and track resolution progress. 2. Communication Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including executives, IT teams, and end-users. Provide regular updates on the incident status, resolution progress, and expected timelines. 3. Root Cause Analysis Conduct thorough root cause analysis for major incidents to prevent recurrence. Work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions and improvements. Secondary Skills 1. Documentation Document incident details, resolution processes, and post-incident reports. Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident management procedures. 2. Continuous Improvement Identify areas for improvement in incident management processes. Collaborate with teams to implement changes and enhancements to prevent future incidents.
