JD Title: Mainframe Tower Lead

Job Location: Chennai/Hyderabad/ Bangalore/ Mumbai/ Pune/ Kolkata/ Indore/ Cochin/ Delhi/ Noida

Summary of key responsibilities

Minimum 8+ years of broad and indepth hands-on technical and design/architect level experience in Mainframe OS & Storage platform, along with Mainframe Database, Mainframe Middleware and Mainframe Batch & Mainframe Scheduling experience.

Experience in leading a Team of Mainframe SMEs, mid & junior level employees in providing Mainframe services to Global Clients.

Experience in a multi-site (Metro / Global Mirror & GDPS) Mainframe setups of minimum 5K-10K MIPS and above.

Experience in managing BAU (Business As Usual) Mainframe Service Delivery in a Technical Capacity

Prepare and Present Mainframe Technical presentations to Customers

Work with Client/Customer, OEM & ISV Vendors, Business Partners related to all aspects of the Mainframe Platform.

Design/Architect various Mainframe Solutions as SME (DC planning, HW sizing, Storage Replication, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, OEM/ISV Products evaluation and recommendations etc…)

Derive realistic Mainframe SLAs and design / propose Mainframe architecture meeting those SLAs goals

Mainframe Licensing, TCO and ROI planning and decision making.

Mainframe future roadmap planning and decision making related to Modernization and Exit.

Years of Experience

Minimum 8+ years of hands-on technical and Architect experience on the Mainframe Platform as a whole (Data Center, HW, OS, Storage, DB, MW, Networking, DR/BCP, Scheduling and Batch)

Technical requirements

• Experience in leading a Team of Mainframe SMEs, mid & junior level employees in providing Mainframe services to Global Clients

• Experience in IBM z15, z16 & z17 Mainframe HW and Parallel Sysplex/GDPS-GDDR Setup
• Experience in both IBM and EMC Disk and Tape Storage hardware, software and replication.
• z/OS v3.x, JES2/JES3, DFSMS, SNA/VTAM & TCP/IP, RMF/SMF
• Mainframe Data Center Architecture (Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, MGM, 2/3/4 site GDPS & GDDR)
• Mainframe DB2, IMS, IDMS, MQ, CICS, WAS, CA7, CA11, CA1, OmegaMon, BMC AMI suite, Rocket Software Zeke, Zara, Zena.
• Mainframe Security RACF, ACF2, Top Secret
• Mainframe Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning
• Experience in Disaster Recovery setup and conducting DR drills.
• Conversant with both IBM and EMC HW and Replication methodology. Hitachi optional.
• Mainframe Data Center Physical Planning and Design
• Mainframe Tools–SIEM (Q-Radar), z/OS-SA or CA-OPS/MVS Automation
• Experience in Mainframe MIPS Optimization, Software rationalization
• Hands-on experience with IBM DS8K, IBM TS7K, IBM CyberVault, EMC-VMAX/PowerMax & DLm HW
• IBM-Metro/Global Mirror, Copy Services, GDPS, EMC-SRDF, EMC-GDDR
• Flash Copy, BCV-SnapVX, zDP, Safe Guarded Copy (SGC)
• Setup and Manager Mainframe DC Storage Replication
