Job Description

Machine Shop Shift Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage daily operations of the machine shop during the assigned shift.
Allocate manpower, plan shift activities, and ensure smooth workflow.
Perform
machine setting
and support operators in setup activities when required.
Monitor production output and ensure adherence to daily targets.
Coordinate with quality teams to ensure components meet required specifications.
Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure minimum downtime.
Ensure proper functioning of machines, tools, and fixtures.
Maintain shift reports, production logs, and documentation.
Implement and maintain
5S, safety, and process discipline
on the shop floor.
Train and guide operators to improve efficiency and performance.
Support continuous improvement and reduce rejection rates.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong expertise in
machine setting (setter role)
for CNC/Conventional machines.
Hands-on knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and fixtures.
Ability to interpret
engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T
.
Leadership and shift management skills.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
Knowledge of quality standards and production processes.
Good communication and team coordination skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates from precision machining, automotive components, or engineering industries.
Ability to handle manpower and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
