Job Description

As a Risk Control Consultant at EXL Risk Control, you will play a crucial role in providing risk assessments and loss control surveys to commercial lines insurance carriers. Your primary responsibilities will include scheduling on-site surveys, delivering risk evaluation and improvement reports to insurance industry clients, and offering recommendations to mitigate potential loss-producing conditions. To excel in this role, you should possess 10+ years of experience in commercial Property & Casualty Risk Control with a major insurance carrier or national broker. Excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a strong commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards are essential. Additionally, knowledge or experience in commercial insurance, inspections, fire and safety assessments will be advantageous. You will be expected to manage assignments, secure customer appointments within a designated territory, and complete work assignments within specified timelines. Special projects and challenging risk evaluation surveys may also be part of your responsibilities, leveraging your education, professional certifications, and risk control skills. Working remotely from your home or office, you will travel to local commercial business operations such as retail establishments, restaurants, hotels, construction sites, manufacturers, schools, and more. Your assessments will cover various commercial insurance lines of business including Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk. In order to efficiently perform your duties, you must have a Windows-based PC with an image/document scanner, a digital camera, high-speed internet access, a measuring device (laser, tape, or measuring wheel), and a reliable vehicle. While auto and general liability insurance is preferred, it is not mandatory. Preferred qualifications for this role include a BS Degree in Engineering, Safety, or physical sciences, as well as certifications like CSP or ARM. Experience in Risk Control Consulting, working with major carriers or national brokerages, and familiarity with commercial insurance inspections and fire and life safety investigations are highly valued.
