Logistics Manager

Location : Chennai CKC

Role TM/SDM

Shift : EU Shift (11.30am 9.30pm)

Mode : WFO 5 Days

• Excellent operational & Road Logistics skill.
• Min 12-15 years of experience
• Prefer some one with manufacturing background & growing into logistical stream
• Must have leadership skills- Interpersonal skills, KPI’s ,stake holder management .
• Must have coordinated with different carriers apart from DHL
• Should have managed a team of 20+ members
• Experience working with European market
• Understanding of FTL and LTL dimensions and calculation of goods fitment
• Stakeholder management – working along with carriers and internal teams
• Shipments not loaded report to be published on daily basis.
• Understanding on the shipment terms and documentation requirements for transportation.
• Determine the goods to be shipped following their availability, the customer’s request, the traffic instruction, the delivery priority, and the transit times.
• Collaberate and work together with Customer Service for communication with customer and resolving issues.
• Handling customer queries related to creating new Delivery & shipments and handling the issues for the current ones.
• Calculate the quantity to be loaded by trailer / container.
• Build the shipments and send the confirmation to the selected carriers
• SAP and TRANSPOREON or similar fleet system application knowledge is advantage.
• Analyze the request and propose different alternative solutions (in transit time and price) to the requestor.
• Organize the shipping at the best balance cost/service.
• Drive shipments costs down by identifying clubbing opportunities to increase shipment size.
• Report Freight KPI’s (rush shipment, non-optimal freight).
• Find alternative carriers in case shipments not accepted by assigned carrier (secure the relevant endorsement).
• Analyze requests from all parties’ carriers, sales, customers, etc..., provide answer and or solution in due time.
• Act as interface between customer service and carriers to optimize the service provided to the customer.
• Actively participate in the weekly logistics calls (raise issues and propose solutions to the supervisor).
• Provide support to Distribution and Warehousing Manager.
• Team handling experience and skills to work along with traffic planners and educate and understand the criticality and escalate wherever required
• Track and maintain SLA & KPI metrics to manage delivery agreement with client
