Role Overview:

Linux Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain

  Azure cloud-hosted Linux servers

  , including installation, configuration, patch management, and security updates.
• Perform

  MySQL and PostgreSQL

  database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, backups, restores, and upgrades.
• Ensure

  high availability

  and

  disaster recovery solutions

  for MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including

  query tuning, indexing, and server performance adjustments

  .
• Implement

  security policies

  , ensure compliance with best practices, and manage

  database user roles and permissions

  .
• Troubleshoot and resolve

  database-related issues

  , including slow queries, locking issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Automate routine system and database management tasks using

  shell scripts, Ansible, or other automation tools

• Collaborate with development and

  DevOps teams

  to implement database solutions and assist in

  CI/CD pipelines

• Conduct regular

  database health checks

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree

  in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years

  of proven experience as a

  Linux System Administrator

  managing distributions like

  RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu

  .
• Strong hands-on experience with

  MySQL and PostgreSQL

  administration, performance tuning, and replication.
• Proficiency in

  shell scripting

  and automation tools (e.g.,

  Ansible, Bash, Python

  ).
• Experience with

  backup and recovery strategies

  for MySQL/PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of

  networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, SSH)

  and troubleshooting.
