Are you seeking an engaging role as a laboratory technician within a collaborative team focused on an exciting project aimed at inspiring young individuals to lead healthier lives We are currently recruiting for a technician to contribute to the implementation of the LifeLab programme. LifeLab operates as a unique hospital-based classroom that offers innovative and stimulating activities designed to empower teenagers to make well-informed decisions regarding their health-related behaviors. Additionally, it aims to cultivate an interest in science and health as potential areas of future study or career paths. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting the execution of laboratory-based health and science educational initiatives at the LifeLab facility. This involves coordinating the scheduling of sessions, ensuring the necessary consumables and activities are prepared and arranged for school days, and assisting in the delivery of teaching activities during LifeLab sessions. This role is ideal for an individual with a keen interest in biology and health education. As a member of a small and friendly team, strong teamwork skills are crucial, along with a dedication to the University's principles of collegiality. Training will be provided for specific laboratory tasks, following which you will be expected to operate with minimal supervision. Applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check for this position. This part-time role is offered on a 0.4FTE basis, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays, and is on a fixed-term contract until 30th November 2027. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 15th September 2025.
