Life Skill Educator The Life Skills Educator spend the majority of her time providing support to the tutors, facilitating Life skills and career guidance sessions with girls, home visits of the girls, parents meeting and assists the Program Coordinator in carrying out all activities of the GEP. The position will be school based in the district Udham Singh Nagar and will involve extensive travel to the areas of work. The incumbent will also be responsible for strengthening linkages with SMCs, collecting program data, undertake monitoring as required and entering it into Aasraa database. This position will have direct interface with adolescent girls in Govt. institutional setting. The LSE mentor reports to the Program Coordinator. Duties & Responsibilities: · Program Implementation and Training {Provide support to school teachers/tutors and facilitating Life skill sessions, career guidance to girls (as per program design)} · Set a schedule of visit to the girl’s home · Support to school teachers/tutors to set the schedule of academic support as per girl’s needs, observing tutoring classes and providing hand-holding support as per the requirement. · Undertake regular field based monitoring as per the approved monitoring plan · Fill the monitoring forms, consolidate and report to office. · Support and facilitate the administration of base line assessment tool for all the girls and stake holders. · Facilitate the monthly/quarterly meetings of school teachers (cluster/block/ level) to discuss and identify solutions to challenges are facing in program implementation and in working with the girls. · Participate in regular trainings and meetings with Aasraa staff. · Ensure feedback is given to specific school/tutors and recorded in written regularly. · Participate in donor/ government stakeholders visits to program locations and provide information to donors/stakeholders about Aasraa’s Girls’ Education Program as needed. Liaising, networking and building linkages at the field, block level: · Establish and strengthen monitoring mechanisms at the school / / block level while working closely with the governance systems · Liaison with the government to strengthen mainstreaming of reporting and monitoring mechanisms related to the Program · Building linkages with like-minded organizations for referral services for girls after discussing with Program Officer. · Providing support to school tutors in maintaining academic record as decided. · Providing support to school tutors in periodic assessment of the girls and keeping records for the same. · Ensuring Quality program at the field level: · Understand and work on factors that may impede quality and fidelity of Life skills on the field. · Tracks to see if quality standards are being met and provide updates to PC · Use academic support observations form and basis tool provides feedback to school tutors and Project Coordinator. Planning, Reporting and Documentation: · Ensure the school tutors are keeping program records as decided per the program design. · Collect this data and provide to PC/PM as needed and agreed as per data flow mechanisms · Collect this data (MIS), provide it to the PC/PM, and enter it into Aasraa’s database (as indicated). · Document best practices, case studies, photos and lessons learned and share with the Team. · Flag challenges/issues/timely alerts to reporting manager to ensure smooth implementation. · Collect girl’s attendance records from the school and submit it to PC · Prepare the home visits and stake holders meeting (meeting with parents, SMCs, school’s authority and teacher) reports and collect the attendance data for the same and submit it to PC Qualifications: · Master’s degree in Education/ Social Work/ development/Gender Studies or equivalent to these. · 1-2 years of relevant work experience in areas of girl’s education, gender and life skills. · Prior experience of working closely with school teachers and government. · This position requires extensive travel to home of girls and other school’s /block levels. · Good interpersonal skills and a team player. · Good understanding of MS word and MS excel for reporting purpose. · Strong organizational and planning skills including the ability to monitor progress of program implementation. · Prior experience in facilitation and training. Compensation: The salary range for this position will be determined based upon the experience of the candidate hired.
