Job Description

Job Title: Legal Executive

Department: Legal

Location: Turbhe, Navi Mumbai

Reporting To: Head – Legal / Senior Legal Manager

Candidate




Job Summary:

The Legal Executive will be responsible for handling the company’s legal affairs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, drafting and reviewing contracts, coordinating with external lawyers, and supporting management in all legal and regulatory matters.




Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drafting & Documentation

  • Prepare, review, and vet various legal documents such as agreements, contracts, MOUs, NDAs, lease deeds, and other commercial documents such as JV, Investment, partnership deed, etc.
  • Ensure all documents are legally appropriate, properly executed, and stored systematically
  1. Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain statutory records and assist in regulatory filings.
  • Support compliance audits and inspections.
  • PBR (Plant Breeder Right) Compliance.
  1. Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Liaise with external counsels for ongoing legal cases.
  • Prepare case summaries, reply to notices, and maintain litigation trackers.
  • Draft legal notices and responses to government authorities or counterparties.
  • FSSAI, Food Packaging, Legal Metrology, etc
  1. Contracts & Agreements

  • Assist in negotiation, execution, and management of contracts with vendors, suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Property law: APMC, CIDCO, MIDC, etc
  • Track key contract dates, renewals, and obligations.
  1. Advisory & Support

  • Provide legal opinions and guidance to internal departments.
  • Assist management in risk identification and mitigation in commercial decisions.
  • Support in due diligence for new projects, partnerships, or property matters.
  1. Documentation & Record Management

  • Maintain an organized digital and physical repository of all legal files.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of legal data and records.



Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    LL. B (mandatory); LL.M preferred.
  • Experience:

    2-4 years (depending on position) in corporate legal, contract management, or compliance roles.
  • Skills:

  • Strong drafting and communication.
  • International Trade Terms
  • Customs Law relating to Import and Export
  • Indirect Taxes such as IGST, GST, etc
