Role Overview
The Legal Contracting Network (LCN) is a cutting-edge, expert team located in Asia bringing together the responsibilities and management of legal contracting. LCN delivers effective, consistent and efficient legal support for contracting.By joining our dedicated team of lawyers, paralegals and contracting specialists, you will become part of a world-class contracting support function at our Global Capabilities Centre in Bengaluru, India. As a member of the LCN Team, you will be accountable for providing quality contracting support on a global basis for various GSK stakeholders. In this role you will:
- Provide legal support for complex, global and market- based contracts, with a core focus on services (for example, consulting financial, insurance/benefits, outsourcing, etc.) transactions.
- Collaborate with other functions of LCN as well as partners from legal and the business globally.
- Autonomously provide quality contracting support, including analysis, drafting, and negotiation of transactions, with consideration of legal, policy, regulatory, and compliance issues, and support from subject matter experts.
- Build critical skill sets including technical skills, problem solving and innovation.
- Conduct research on various legal issues.
- Contribute to the development of contracting playbooks and undertake initiatives to enhance the contracting capabilities of business partners
- Understand departmental guidance on best practices, processes, templates.
- Understand legal and financial risks and implications of contracts.
- Help management identify and prevent contract-related legal risks.
- Manage/Interact with outside counsel as appropriate on discreet issues.
- Review and interpret new legislation and regulations impacting global contracting, ensuring compliance and sharing knowledge with team members.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
If you have these qualities and experience, we'd like to speak to you
- Qualified lawyer with minimum 10+ years experience in a law firm and/or in-house, including relevant experience in complex commercial contracting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, providing support to global business partners in diverse geographies.
- Familiarity with global professional services contracting, tech (AI, SaaS), as well as experience with CLM tools.
- A basic understanding of ABAC laws, sanctions laws, cyber security, and labor laws is expected.
- A sound understanding of the pharmaceuticals industry or other highly regulated industries.
- A sound understanding of IT systems designed to support and enhance contracting processes and an interest in emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with global privacy laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA.
- Deep understanding of Common law legal systems.
- A deep understanding of the legal and financial risks associated with contracting.
- Excellent communication and time management skills enabling the provision of timely, effective legal advice to business partners.
