Job Description

Profile Summary:

The Senior Manager / Manager – Learning & Development will play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling eP University, a structured training ecosystem supporting internal workforce development and global commercial growth. This position requires a strong commercial mindset, proven expertise in building scalable training programs, and hands-on ownership of content creation, curriculum development, and execution.

The role will lead the development of structured learning programs, certification modules, training materials, assessments, and delivery platforms for employees, partners, customers, and external learners. Over time, this function is expected to evolve into a revenue-generating business unit, with cohorts completing multi-month programs and earning credits or certifications.

Key Objective:

  • Build an end-to-end corporate and commercial training platform.
  • Develop the first complete eP University training program by June 2026 for internal teams.
  • Launch external paid training offerings starting January 2026.
  • Establish eP University as a scalable, commercially viable business centre within 6–12 months.
  • Grow the training function into a multi-faculty, multi-program operation over time.

Roles & Responsibilities

Program Development & Ownership

o Define and structure the full learning roadmap for multiple audiences (engineering, operations, applications, technical support, external customers, distributors, and partners).

o Build detailed training calendars, certification pathways, and evaluation rubrics.

o Conduct Training Need Analysis (TNA) across functions and geographies.

Curriculum Design & Content Development

o Create comprehensive training materials including:

· Lesson plans

· Technical instruction guides

· Assessment modules

· Course handbooks

· Certification exams

· Multi-level learning journeys

o Work with SMEs, Application Engineers, our CTOs, and other contributors to develop course content and reference materials.

o Oversee the production of training videos and digital learning modules.

Commercial Strategy & Business Execution

o Build eP University as a functional business centre with measurable ROI.

o Define pricing strategy, course fee structures, margins, and revenue models.

o Measure business performance through revenue, learner scale, conversion, certification success, and repeat engagement.

Training Delivery & Operations

o Implement delivery models including:

· Classroom

· Virtual learning

· Blended programs

· LMS-based self-paced modules

o Manage learner registration, attendance, timelines, evaluation results, and certification issuance.

o Oversee continuous improvement of courses based on learner feedback and business outcomes.

LMS & Training Automation

o Select and oversee implementation of a Learning Management System (LMS).

o Ensure:

· Learner tracking

· Automated assessments

· Data-driven performance dashboards

· Multi-audience access management (internal & external)

Team Leadership & Growth

o Build and lead the training team over time, including:

· Trainers / instructors

· Content developers

· Program coordinators

· Academic support roles

· Recruit academic staff (e.g., faculty/professors) once the program framework is established.

Compliance & Alignment

o Align training processes with quality systems such as:

· ISO 9001

· ISO 27001

· Engineering process standards

o Maintain proper documentation, revision logs, and audit-ready training records.

Stakeholder Collaboration

o Work closely with:

· Engineering leadership

· Applications and product teams

· HR L&D

· Business development

· Customer-facing teams

o Ensure training directly supports product adoption, service quality, organizational capability, and customer success.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in developing:

  • Engineering or technical curricula
  • Learning frameworks
  • Certification systems

Strong knowledge of:

  • LMS systems and digital training delivery
  • Course authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, Rise, Camtasia, etc.)

Ability to design assessments, scorecards, and measurable learning outcomes.

  • Strong data-driven reporting and ROI measurement capability.
  • Experience with corporate learning rollout in multi-location environments.

Authority:

  • Define the entire training architecture, academic structure, and certification pathways.
  • Approve curriculum, course materials, assessments, pass criteria, and learning modes.
  • Recommend and approve LMS platform selection.
  • Allocate resources for content creation and learning delivery.
  • Lead and assign work to instructors, content developers, and training teams.
  • Represent eP University in internal and external programs.
  • Drive pricing and business decisions subject to leadership alignment.
  • Approve graduation criteria and certification issuance.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related technical fields or related fields
  • PhD in Engineering, Technology, Education, or Learning Sciences
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Education, Instructional Design, or Business Administration
  • Professional Certificate (Preferred) – Train the trainer/Business Training/Education Technology certified/Industrial Learning Certified

Professional Experience:

  • 10–12 years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, Engineering Education, Technical Training, or Academic Program Ownership.
  • Must have previously built and scaled technical training programs in an engineering or technology organization.
  • Experience launching external/commercial training programs preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
