Learning Consultant/Sr Learning Consultant
you will work collaboratively with internal and client team members to support the learning needs of our biotech and pharmaceutical clients. You will understand the vision for a project and build the deliverables, so having strong thinking skills and learning experience is a must! In this role you will need to navigate many complexities from multiple projects to a fast-moving environment and an ever-changing life science business. To be successful you must be self-motivated, innovative, agile in an ambiguous environment, and operate with a growth mindset.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and analyze content requirements and interpret instructional design vision
- Develop and design engaging live instructional materials and eLearning modules (PowerPoint, job aid, pdf, etc.)
- Write effective copy, instructional text, cases, audio/video scripts, and supporting materials (e.g., facilitator guides, participant manuals, job aids).
- Storyboard the visual and textual flow of online courses, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience (UX)
- Develop and program interactive e-learning modules and online courses using authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, or Adobe Captivate
- Utilize multimedia tools to enhance learning experiences including graphics, videos, animation, and audio scripts
- Maintain and update existing learning materials to reflect current industry standards and best practices
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of learning programs and make necessary improvements
- Ensure all content is compliant with accessibility standards
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in eLearning and instructional design
- The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines is critical for keeping development on track
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
- 6+ years of learning and development experience leveraging multiple modalities: live, virtual, video, PDF, etc.
- 3+ yrs experience designing learning for the life science industry
- A strong understanding of adult learning theories and design models
- 3+ years of experience in eLearning content development
- Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar
- Strong understanding and application of Kirkpatrick levels of measurement
- Demonstrated success at managing multiple projects and meeting deadline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills (MS PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master degree from a US or European university preferred
- Business acumen of the US/EU pharmaceutical industry and operating structures of global, multi-national corporations through in-house or consulting strongly preferred
- Management consulting experience preferred
- Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) preferred
- Knowledge of web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus for advanced customization
- Familiarity with standards like SCORM or xAPI preferred
- Note: This role will involve working with the US/UK teams and will entail working partial overlap hours with those time zones at least 3 days every week. Work time flexibility is provided. Prior demonstrated success working in such an environment is a plus
