Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Lead Software Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to design, develop, and improve software solutions. This role is based in our Pune office.
Roles and Responsibility
  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale observability platforms, prioritizing comprehensive instrumentation and consistent emission of metrics, logs, and traces using OpenTelemetry.
  • Develop scalable observability strategies and best practices for product teams, ensuring seamless Observability.
  • Lead the adoption of tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana across multiple languages and frameworks.
  • Define and refine SLOs and SLIs with engineering and product teams, ensuring reliable system health measurement.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify observability gaps, improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
  • Mentor engineers on advanced instrumentation, observability design patterns, and effective use of dashboards and alerting.
Job Requirements
  • Experience in large-scale observability for distributed systems.
  • Advanced expertise with Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of structured logging, metrics, and tracing across multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
  • Proven ability to develop and operationalize SLOs and SLIs using observability data.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership responsibilities include contributing or setting strategy, driving requirements, making recommendations for change, planning resources, budgets, and policies, managing and maintaining policies/processes, delivering continuous improvements, and escalating breaches of policies/procedures.
  • If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department's future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, aligning with strategic as well as tactical priorities, balancing short and long-term goals, and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions. Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes. Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
