Job title: Lead Proposal Engineer Retrofit & Revamp Department: Enviro - Project PU - Proposals Qualification: B.E. / B. Tech. (Mechanical / Chemical/Electrical) Location: Environment House, Pune Roles & Responsibilities : Understanding requirements ofcustomers Studying the enquiry details, preparing pre-bid queries, seekingclarifications & necessary design inputs, site study visits, activeparticipation in Bid/No-Bid discussions Developing optimum solutionProposal & submission in committed time Developing Scheme, Process FlowDiagram, P & ID, Sizing the Product & other equipment, GA, EquipmentLayout, Ducting Layout, Power Distribution Scheme, Automation & ControlScheme, with review & optimization, Technical Proposal document preparationalong with deviations/clarifications list in coordination with E & I Engineerand Drafting Engineer, Proposal work planning including the in-processself-review as well as review by Proposal Group Head. Satisfying customer concerns & building confidence technical presentation and discussion with the customer and/orconsultant, sorting out all queries, product & system solution positioning, achieving agreement with the customer and/or consultant on all technicalaspects of our Proposal, establishing key differentiators/USPs/etc. Collaboration - Close coordination with ourSales team during the complete bidding process and also coordination with theother Proposals team members, Engineering, Projects, Materials, Construction, QA, Logistics, Safety, and Services team members to collect all necessaryinputs for optimum solution development, weight & cost estimation. Weightoptimization with support from the Engineering team. Providing timely inputs toour Construction team & obtaining an estimation of I & C costs. Bought-outs Estimation - Floating RFQs andcollecting backup quotations for bought-out items from approved sub-suppliers, referring to buying experience in the recent past, understanding fair pricing, negotiating with sub-suppliers, and preparing the best possible cost estimate. Presenting and explaining thecritical aspects of the Proposal and Estimation during the Review with SeniorManagement & active participation in strategic decision-making for theproject. Active participation in newapplications development, following IMS guidelines, continual improvementinitiatives, Work Priority Planning, etc. Post-Order : Project Creation, ODS Release, Conducting OTM, preparing WBS, Budget entry in ERP, resolving ODSclarifications, Review of Basic Engineering, supporting project execution teamas & when necessary, collecting feedback on estimation v/s actual executeddata of fabrication quantities, bought-out costs, logistics costs, constructioncosts, etc. Ownership of Order Bookingtarget, Right First Time Proposal development & accurate cost estimation To develop a reference databasefor sizing, weight estimation & bought-out cost estimation Continual improvement andoptimization by collecting feedback from executed projects, inputs fromindustry/market, etc. Critical competencies: Knowledge of various designs of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) / Pulse JetBag Filter (PJBF) based Air Pollution Control systems for several industrialapplications. Knowledge & experience on R & R of ESP/PJBF based Air Pollution Controlsystems will be preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing process of Cement, Iron & Steel, Aluminium, Copper, Zinc, Glass Plants, various Boiler applications Experience in Proposal Development, Weight & Cost Estimation In-depth working approach Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonalskills Prioritizing & time management skills Innovative thinking Customer-centric approach Ownership & accountability Ability to work on First of a kind applications/requirement Candidate should be ready to travel for visiting Plants & Offices in India & abroad as needed Knowledge of ERP, AutoCAD, DMS, and Office 365
