Lead Precast Tekla Designer

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precast Tekla Modeler/Designer with experience in multi storey residential and commercial building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing precast concrete models, shop drawings and details using Tekla software, coordinating with design teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:

A deep understanding of precast modelling, detailing and design principles, including Reinforcement connection details, material selection, and fabrication processes

Review and checking detailed precast concrete models using Tekla and prepare detailed/shop drawings for residential and commercial building projects.

Develop plans, elevations, sections, and connection details based on architectural and structural drawings.

Coordinate and lead a team of detailers, engineers, architects, and project teams to resolve design issues and ensure constructability.

Interpret and apply relevant American (USA), Canadian codes, standards, and project specifications. Preferred to have experience working in USA projects and clients.

Track and manage revisions and updates throughout the design and construction process.

Should have strong communication, understanding of end to end precast design for residential & commercial projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor or Master Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering

Proven minimum of 10+ experience in precast design, preferably in both residential and commercial projects.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures (Mandatory).

Strong understanding of precast construction methods, materials, and connection details. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with international codes or projects (e.g., ACI, IBC, Canadian codes). Exposure to BIM workflows and coordination.
