Lead Engineer/ Deputy Manager/ Asst. Manager/ Engineer- Piping Stress

Role & responsibilities

1. Piping Stress Analysis & Design Validation

• Perform

  piping stress analysis

  using software such as

  CAESAR II

  to ensure compliance with relevant design codes (ASME B31.1 / B31.3, API, ASTM, etc.).
• Evaluate piping flexibility, support adequacy, nozzle loads, and equipment interface loads.
• Review and verify critical lines for thermal expansion, pressure, vibration, and other load conditions.
  

2. Support Design & Optimization

• Design and recommend appropriate

  piping supports

  ,

  spring hangers

  ,

  snubbers

  , and

  restraints

  to control stresses and displacements.
• Coordinate with the piping layout and support design teams to finalize support locations and types.
• Optimize piping routing to minimize stress issues while maintaining accessibility and constructability.
  

3. Equipment Interface & Vendor Coordination

• Evaluate nozzle loads on static and rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, exchangers, turbines, etc.) to ensure compliance with allowable limits (API 610, NEMA SM23, etc.).
• Coordinate with equipment vendors to obtain allowable loads, connection details, and boundary conditions.
• Prepare and issue

  stress reports

  and

  nozzle load summary sheets

  for client/vendor approval.

4. Project Coordination & Interface Management

• Work closely with

  process

  ,

  mechanical

  ,

  civil/structural

  , and

  instrumentation

  disciplines to resolve piping-related issues.
• Interface with project management and construction teams to address field concerns and design modifications.
• Participate in model review meetings (3D model reviews) and ensure stress requirements are incorporated.
  

5. Code & Standard Compliance

• Ensure all stress analysis work adheres to relevant international standards, client specifications, and project procedures.
• Keep updated with the latest industry codes and software developments.
  

6. Documentation & Deliverables

• Prepare and review deliverables including

  stress isometrics

  ,

  stress critical line lists

  ,

  load summary sheets

  ,

  support schedules

  , and

  calculation reports

• Support preparation of material requisitions and technical bid evaluations for special supports.
  

7. Field & Construction Support

• Provide

  technical support during construction

  , including review of field change requests and resolution of site issues.
• Perform stress re-analysis for field modifications and verify the adequacy of temporary or permanent supports.
  

8. Mentoring & Leadership (for senior-level roles)

• Supervise and guide junior engineers in performing stress analysis and report preparation.
• Review and approve stress deliverables and ensure quality compliance.
• Support project planning, manpower estimation, and schedule control for the piping stress team.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

Candidates should have 5 to 15+ years of experience in design of piping stress & familiar with CAESAR software.
