Lead Data Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to guide data-driven strategies through leadership in analytical projects, the development of advanced predictive models, and the discovery of actionable insights. This position involves using advanced data science approaches, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior peers while shaping the organization’s data science direction. Responsibilities Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business growth Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to address complex problems and improve decision-making processes Uphold data quality, accuracy, and consistency by ensuring datasets are properly prepared and cleaned Design scalable data pipelines to support extensive data processing needs, optimizing them for performance Collaborate with data engineers and developers to deploy and integrate machine learning models into production environments Explore advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to implement innovative approaches Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover opportunities that drive improvement and added business value Help establish and document data science frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for internal use Mentor junior data scientists to foster development, skill building, and knowledge exchange within the team Present technical findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Requirements More than 5 years of experience in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning At least 1 year of leadership experience in relevant roles Proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity with machine learning frameworks Solid understanding of statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing for practical applications Competency in data preprocessing techniques, including data wrangling and feature engineering Skills in data visualization tools like Power BI to convey results effectively Familiarity with Agile methodologies and effective collaboration within cross-functional teams Problem-solving ability to align data science approaches with critical business objectives Background in translating complex analytical findings into actionable business strategies English communication skills at a B2+ level Nice to have Expertise in deep learning methods and neural networks Knowledge of utilizing cloud platforms for data processing and storage Understanding of data governance policies, compliance, and privacy regulations in enterprise environments Familiarity with advanced technologies like natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision techniques We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities Opportunity to join and participate in life of EPAM's Employee Resource Groups EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Show more Show less
