Purpose of the role: Skilled and detail-oriented Cloud FinOps Lead will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and analyzing cloud financial operations to ensure cost efficiency, budget adherence, and financial transparency. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and operations, to drive financial accountability and cloud cost optimization across the organization. Also, part of Cloud optimization team to execute the recommendations. Preferrebly a FinOps person with Cloud Operation knowledge and experience. Role Description Cloud Cost Management: Monitor and manage cloud spend across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Implement and manage tools for cost monitoring, forecasting, and optimization. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud costs and usage. Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend actionable strategies. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze cloud spend and usage trends to identify inefficiencies and potential cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with finance teams to align cloud costs with budget forecasts. Provide regular financial reporting and insights to stakeholders. Cost Optimization: Partner with engineering teams to recommend and implement cost optimization strategies such as rightsizing, reserved instances, and resource tagging. Conduct regular audits of cloud environments to ensure compliance with cost management policies. Develop and enforce tagging policies and best practices to improve cost allocation accuracy. Good understanding of Cloud services and associated cost model along with experience on Cloud Operations Process Improvement: Develop and refine processes for cloud cost management, governance, and financial planning. Educate teams on cloud financial management best practices and provide training on cost optimization tools. Contribute to the development and implementation of FinOps frameworks and standards across the organization. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with engineering, finance, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on cloud spending and budgeting. Act as a liaison between technical and financial teams to bridge the gap between cloud infrastructure and financial management. Provide guidance and support to project teams on cost implications of cloud architecture decisions. Experience: 10+ years of experience in cloud financial management along with cloud operations background. Mandate: Cloud Operation Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong understanding of cloud cost structures, billing, and pricing models. Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in a cloud environment. Skills: Proficiency in cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth, etc.). Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Certifications: FinOps Certified Practitioner AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Cloud Administration Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer
