Business Unit: Platform Services The Platform Services Business Unit at Epsilon specializes in the implementation, management, and evolution of Custom and PeopleCloud solutions, providing comprehensive end-to-end support for clients. Role: Lead Business Systems Analyst (Lead BSA) The Lead Business Systems Analyst (Lead BSA) is a highly hands-on role that demands an organized team player with 8+ years of relevant experience . This position requires a proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and excel in a deadline-driven environment. A strong interest in interactive marketing is essential, alongside outstanding communication and project management skills. The role places special emphasis on gathering requirements, performing analysis, translating business requirements into functional/business specifications, creating test plans, and developing quality assurance methodologies . Experience within the interactive industry is a significant plus. Lead BSAs work collaboratively with Client Services, Custom Development teams, and relevant technology team members to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of complete solutions. The Lead BSA reports to a Manager or Sr. Manager. Key Responsibilities As a Lead Business Systems Analyst, you will: Lead new multi-channel client installations and integrations. Lead client solution and requirements gathering conversations. Document end-to-end solutions for client development teams. Lead client solution scoping calls and other critical meetings. Drive solution design, scope definition, and specification document creation. Collaborate with custom development teams to ensure accurate and on-time solution delivery. Create and manage project plans , ensuring adherence to timelines. Validate and test platform setup and configurations. Write test plans for custom solutions , and perform validation and testing of custom solution reports. Provide weekly project status reports to client and internal teams. Serve as the primary escalation contact for platform configuration issues. Undertake occasional travel to client locations as needed. Manage direct reports , providing leadership, mentorship, soliciting and providing feedback, and completing performance appraisals. Participate in interviewing and hiring BSAs to foster growth and contribution within the BSA practice. Essential Job Functions: Analyze complex business problems. Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing cost-effective systems, processes, and procedures that meet user requirements. Develop and document system specifications that are aligned with, and based on, business requirements. Configure system settings and options. Plan and execute quality assurance, functional, and end-to-end testing ; coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) with end-users. Work with developers, architects, and senior BSAs to design and document the details of automated systems and processes. Provide detailed guidance to developers regarding software, application, or product inclusions to ensure successful client roll-out/implementation. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. May operate as an internal or external, client-focused resource, collaborating with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. Provide production support for solutions that are in production. Qualifications Knowledge & Skills Communication: Able to clearly and effectively communicate and articulate, both written and verbally, detailed specifications (e.g., project requirements, requested changes, and testing results). Documentation: Able to create and update specifications/documents and assess the completeness of received requirements information. Also able to document information effectively through databases, knowledge warehouses, and other shared spaces. Relationship Management: Able to develop and maintain relationships within the organization and/or with external partners, understanding the unique needs of each partnership and stakeholder. Analytical & Decision Making: Able to analyze and evaluate data, and make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to support business and project teams. SDLC Expertise: Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Process . Meeting Leadership: Able to lead effective client meetings, negotiate deliverables, and drive successful outcomes. System Integration Concepts: Knowledge of system integration concepts and common environments/tools (e.g., FRMS, Fusion debugger, Kibana). SQL Proficiency: Ability to execute SQL queries (understanding data structures, table fields and value types, schemas). API Scripting: Familiarity with Pre/Post scripting for APIs. Proactive Recommendations: Able to make proactive recommendations. Requirements Translation: Able to properly interpret customer needs and translate them into understandable written requirements. Testing: Able to develop and document test plans and test cases. Adaptability: Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often changing environment. Liaison Role: Able to serve as a liaison between various teams (developers and users, clients and companies, management and IT). Personal Attributes: Excellent drive and initiative, strong sense of personal accountability, excellent organization and interpersonal skills, excellent problem-solving skills to ensure project completion, excellent project management skills, and excellent technical aptitude (understanding both business and technical language and ideas). Mentorship & Leadership: Able to mentor and train less experienced peers. Able to lead a project and solution, in addition to a work-stream within a solution. Able to manage and/or oversee 3 or fewer direct reports. Experience Requires 8+ years of related experience. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong negotiation skills. Strong time management skills. Detail-oriented , able to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Strong active listening skills. Self-starter with a strong initiative. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Intermediate SQL skills and ability to interpret project plans. Excellent technical aptitude. Experience in managing direct reports (added advantage). Experience in Loyalty platforms (added advantage).
