Basic FunctionTechnical & Application Database related Production Support ; ;Database Performance Analysis - Understand and resolve slow queries/processes ;Database Archival, Tuning, and Maintenance ;On-site coordination with Technical / Product Team and help resolve DBA IssuesEssential Functions ;Anticipate production issues and take steps to make sure they do not ariseHelp & Troubleshoot Application and Platform specific issuesEnsure that bug fixes releases are fully tested with minimal defects before releasesUnderstand and review the business requirements working with operations / functional teamsCoordinate all activities with Onshore DBA Team to ensure coverage and speedy time to resolutionTechnical SkillsStrong production support experience in Development, Design and Maintenance of relational databases using SQL Server 2016/2017/2019/2022 in OLTP/OLAP/BI environment ;Working experience in+ Database installation, Database maintenance, Upgradation, Migration, Server/database Tuning, Backup & Recovery operations + Experience in Query Optimization and efficiency on database performance improvement using SQL Profiler, Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager, Index Tuning Wizard, and Windows Performance Monitor + Knowledge of SQL Server tools (DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon)+ Hands On Experience on writing complex queries/ stored procedures / triggers / tables / views / indexes / constraints and functions
+ Knowledge on High Availability (HA), DB mirroring, log shipping, Replication & always on SQL server+ Hands on Experience in user creation / access delegation / auditing + Knowledge on SSRS AND SSAS (MDX Query) + Hands on Experience in Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance + Knowledge of 3rd party DBA tools and applications (SolarWinds DPA, RedGate, SCOM)Install and configure new SQL Servers ;Strong experience in DB migration from Oracle to SQL ServerWhen performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes Process Specific Skills ;Basic understanding of Insurance business vertical ;Ability to understand the business processes and associated Application functionalityIndependently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time,providing problem resolution end-to-endExcellent documentation, communication and customer service skillsStrong organization and time management skillsTeam-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help othersExperience performing resource and capacity planningExperience writing implementation plansSoft skills (Desired) ; Good listening and consultative skills ;Able to provide constructive Feedback ;Negotiation and persuasionSoft Skills (Minimum)Strong Technical Curiosity does not have to be asked to show ;initiative and investigate to find the root problems and suggest ;resolutionsStrong communication skillsGood analytical skillsStrong Team player & ability to build & sustain the team ;
