Lathe/DRO Machine Operator

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lathe and DRO Milling Machine Operator to join our machining team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating manual lathe and milling machines with DRO systems to perform precision machining operations as per technical drawings. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications. Operate conventional lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, and boring. Operate DRO Milling Machines for slotting, drilling, and face milling with high precision. Perform job setup, including workpiece clamping, tool setting, and alignment. Measure and inspect parts using vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy. Monitor tool wear and replace tools as needed. Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of machines. Adhere to safety protocols and company standards. Requirements: Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in lathe and milling machine operations. Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerances. Proficiency with measurement tools (micrometer, vernier, dial gauge, etc.). Familiarity with DRO interface and axis positioning. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Fitter trade preferred. Preferred Skills: Basic machine maintenance knowledge. Experience with a variety of materials – mild steel, alloy steel, aluminum, etc. Good teamwork and communication skills.
