Lathe Operator

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional lathe machines to perform various machining operations such as turning, facing, threading, etc. You will need to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job instructions accurately. It will be your duty to select the appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters to ensure efficient machining. Inspecting finished parts using measuring instruments like micrometers, vernier calipers, and gauges is crucial to maintain tight tolerances and surface finish as per specifications. Routine maintenance of lathe machines, cleanliness of the work area, and monitoring machine operation for malfunctions are also part of your responsibilities. Your role will involve following safety practices, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining production logs, work records, and reporting any issues to the supervisor. Collaboration with quality and maintenance teams for continuous improvement is essential. Qualification Required: - ITI in Turner/Machinist or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operating lathe machines (manual or semi-automatic) - Strong understanding of machining practices and shop floor processes - Ability to work independently and produce quality components - Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards - Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting Preferred Skills: - Experience in toolroom or precision machining environments - Exposure to CNC lathe (basic understanding is a plus) - Familiarity with ISO 9001, 5S, and safety protocols in machining - Teamwork, discipline, and time management skills Please note that this is a full-time job with the work location being in person.,
