About Astrogate Labs Astrogate Labs is a space-technology start-up based in Bengaluru, building core technologies in laser communication terminals and networks for small-satellites. Astrogate Labs aims to simplify, reduce cost of communication, and enable satellites send more data to ground. We have developed one of the industry s smallest optical communication terminals targeted for small satellite use, further scaling our products and aiming for our first satellite mission. We aim to revolutionize satellite communications and support the growing satellite downlink needs with a network of optical ground stations and in-space relays using the technologies developed in-house. We are looking for bright and passionate folks like you to join our exceptional team. Job Title: Lasercomm GNC Engineer Qualification: ME/MTech in Electrical Engineering / Communications or any other related field, although this is secondary to relevant experience. Job Responsibilities: We are looking for a person who is excited to tackle various controls and signal processing problems in the general area of optical communication systems. Specifically : Explore, model and design control systems for 2-axis / 3-axis gimbals, PAT systems, beam stabilization Drive component selection, specification of interfaces etc. Implementation and Testing of motor control systems on embedded platforms Participate in peer review for design of Pointing, Acquisition and Tracking systems for optical communication systems Participate in development of control systems for Optical Ground Station Contribute to peer and external design reviews Required Skills/Experience: 2-3 years in Modeling, Simulation and control systems Familiarity with classical and modern control system methods Familiarity with discrete time signal processing (FIR, IIR filters etc), notions of sampling etc. Familiarity with frequency domain analysis (Fourier Transform etc) Familiarity with implementation of control algorithms on embedded hardware Experience in programming languages - C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, Python or similar Must be an independent thinker and motivated to work within a multidisciplinary team Prior experience in design, implementation and testing of control systems is a significant advantage Perks: Health Insurance coverage Association & supervision by industry experts and senior members.
