Job Description

A Lab Technician specializing in injecting and patient care is responsible for administering injections, assisting in patient preparation for medical procedures, collecting and processing samples, and providing compassionate support to patients. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong focus on patient safety and comfort. 1. Injection Administration: Prepare and administer injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intravenous) accurately and safely. Verify patient identity, dosage, and medication details before injection. Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after injections. 2. Patient Care: Assist patients during sample collection, injections, or other procedures to ensure their comfort. Provide clear instructions and answer questions regarding procedures. Observe and report any unusual patient symptoms or reactions to medical staff promptly. 3. Sample Collection and Processing: Collect biological samples (e.g., blood, urine) using sterile techniques. Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory analysis. Ensure proper storage and transportation of samples according to guidelines. 4. Compliance and Safety: Follow strict infection control and sterilization protocols. Safely handle and dispose of sharps, biohazard materials, and medical waste. Comply with institutional and regulatory standards for patient care and laboratory practices.
