Job Description: As the Lab and Warranty In charge, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and managing laboratory operations, conducting quality assessments, and handling warranty-related activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical analysis, instrument calibration, and quality management systems, with a proven ability to drive process improvements and maintain high standards of quality. Key Responsibilities: Raw Material Inspection: Monitor incoming raw materials on a daily basis and make acceptance/rejection decisions based on predefined criteria. In-Process Quality Control: Conduct chemical analysis of in-process materials, including alloys, plates, and acids. Ensure all processes adhere to quality standards and specifications. Laboratory Resource Management: Manage laboratory resources, including chemicals, standards, and instrument spare parts. Ensure proper inventory management and timely replenishment of supplies. SAP Knowledge: Demonstrate proficiency in SAP, particularly in procurement and requisition processes. Testing and Analysis: Conduct assigned tests, routine checks, and development tests as per timelines to meet customer requirements. Review lab-related activities with customers and provide necessary updates. Training and Development: Train subordinates on laboratory procedures and quality control standards. Instrument Calibration: Perform calibration of all lab instruments as per defined frequencies, including those under AMCs (Annual Maintenance Contracts). Lab Test Reports: Prepare and release lab test reports on time, ensuring they meet customer requirements. Customer Complaints: Conduct battery cut-open analysis for customer complaints and provide detailed inputs related to failures. IATF Compliance: Ensure compliance with IATF requirements for all lab-related activities. External Testing: Coordinate with external labs for testing when in-house facilities are unavailable. Customer Support: Review with customers to provide solutions related to battery issues and ensure customer satisfaction. Warranty Management: Manage and analyze warranty data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance product quality and reduce warranty claims. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of chemical preparation and analysis. Proficiency in instrument calibration and maintenance. Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and internal audits. Familiarity with IATF standards and their application in laboratory settings. Mastery of core Quality Control (QC) tools and problem-solving methodologies. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to coordinate effectively with stakeholders across departments. Strong interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment. Analytical and Decision-Making Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions. Ability to make critical decisions on product acceptance based on quality assessments. Battery Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of lead-acid battery manufacturing processes and technologies. Awareness of national and international standards related to battery quality and safety. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report preparation and data analysis
