Job Description

1. Laboratory Support & Assistance Assist faculty and students during laboratory practical sessions and experiments. Prepare and set up equipment, instruments, chemicals, and materials required for practical classes. Support students in handling equipment properly and safely. 2. Equipment Maintenance & Inventory Regularly check, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment. Report malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs with vendors. Maintain records of laboratory equipment, consumables, and materials. 3. Safety & Compliance Ensure safety procedures and guidelines are strictly followed during lab sessions. Handle chemicals, biological samples, or other hazardous materials as per safety norms. Maintain proper waste disposal practices as per university and regulatory guidelines. 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain attendance, experiment logs, inventory records, and stock registers. Assist faculty in preparing laboratory manuals, experiment sheets, and documentation. Keep records of procurement, usage, and wastage of laboratory materials. 5. Miscellaneous Provide assistance during internal and external practical examinations. Help in setting up new experiments or labs when needed. Perform other lab-related duties as assigned by the department. Qualifications & Skills: Educational Qualification: Diploma / Bachelors Degree in [Relevant Field - e.g. Computer Science, Wood Work, Metal Work, Video Camera and Equipment's etc.] Candidates with technical/vocational training or ITI certification can also be considered based on departmental needs. Skills & Competencies: Practical knowledge of laboratory equipment and materials. Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills for lab instruments. Good organizational and record-keeping skills. Familiarity with safety protocols and laboratory standards. Communication and interpersonal skills to assist students and staff. Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred. Freshers with strong practical skills may also be considered.
