Reporting To: General Manager / Factory Manager

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee all knitting operations to ensure smooth production flow, maintain fabric quality, minimize downtime, and achieve daily and monthly production targets efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily knitting production schedules according to order requirements.
• Monitor and control production parameters (GSM, width, design, yarn count, tension, etc.).
• Supervise operators, helpers, and shift supervisors to ensure effective manpower utilization.
• Check and ensure fabric quality standards; identify and rectify knitting defects.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine upkeep and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of production, machine efficiency, yarn consumption, and downtime.
• Ensure proper yarn handling, storage, and consumption tracking.
• Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce wastage.
• Ensure workplace safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards.
• Train and guide team members for better technical performance and quality awareness.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of circular / flat knitting machines (e.g., Mayer & Cie, Terrot, Fukuhara, etc.)
• Technical understanding of yarns, GSM setting, and knitting parameters.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic computer knowledge (Excel / ERP entry / production reporting).

Qualification & Experience

• Qualification: Diploma or B.Tech in Textile Technology (preferred).
• Experience: 5–10 years in knitting production, with minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or Incharge role.
