Job Title: Kathak Dance Teacher Location: Vishwajyot High School, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time Job Overview: Vishwajyot High School is looking for a passionate and experienced Kathak Dance Teacher to join our performing arts faculty. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Kathak, strong teaching skills, and the ability to inspire students to develop their artistic and technical abilities. Key Responsibilities: Conduct structured Kathak dance classes for students of different age groups and skill levels. Teach core Kathak elements such as tatkaar (footwork), mudras (hand gestures), chakkars (spins), abhinaya (expressions), and storytelling . Train students in taal, laya, and rhythm using classical music and percussion instruments like the tabla. Choreograph and prepare students for school events, annual day performances, inter-school competitions, and cultural programs . Guide students in improving posture, grace, and stage presence . Incorporate creative and engaging lesson plans to make learning fun and interactive. Collaborate with music and drama faculty to create interdisciplinary performances. Conduct assessments and provide feedback to students on their progress. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment. Stay updated with new trends and techniques in Kathak while preserving its traditional roots.
