Job Description

The Junior Store Keeper is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the management of inventory and ensuring smooth store operations. This role involves handling stock, maintaining accurate records, performing regular stock checks, and ensuring that materials and supplies are readily available when needed. The Junior Store Keeper will work closely with senior staff to support inventory control, logistics, and record-keeping processes. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and managing inventory items, ensuring all goods are properly labeled and organized. Stock Maintenance: Monitor stock levels, perform regular stock counts, and ensure that stock is rotated and stored according to company standards. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate inventory records, including updating stock movements, sales, and receiving logs, and generating reports for management. Stock Replenishment: Assist in placing orders for materials and supplies based on inventory levels and project requirements, ensuring that stock levels are maintained. Receiving and Inspection: Assist in the receiving and inspection of goods, ensuring that items are delivered in good condition and match the order specifications. Material Handling: Safely handle and transport materials and supplies, ensuring proper storage and organization in the store. Stock Issue and Distribution: Issue materials to different departments or project teams as required, maintaining proper documentation of the stock issued. Health and Safety: Ensure that the store area is clean, safe, and free from hazards. Adhere to company policies regarding storage and handling of materials. Communication: Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient flow of materials. Support Senior Staff: Assist senior storekeepers or inventory managers with daily tasks and special projects as needed. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework or certifications in inventory management or logistics is a plus. Certifications: Forklift operation certification or other material handling certifications are an advantage. Skills: Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, suppliers, and other departments. Basic Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory management software is a plus. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, and work in physically demanding environments. Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify and address stock discrepancies or issues in the store. Experience: Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse role is preferred but not required.
