Junior Software Tester

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester with 1-2 years of experience to join our quality assurance team. You will be responsible for ensuring our applications meet the highest standards of quality before they reach our users. This role involves both manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on using modern JavaScript-based tools like Vitest for unit/integration testing and Playwright for end-to-end testing. You will be a critical part of our development lifecycle, helping us build reliable and bug-free software.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.

● Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for browser automation and end-to-end testing.

● Write and run unit and integration tests using Vitest (or similar tools like Jest).

● Perform manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing to identify defects.

● Identify, document, and meticulously track bugs and inconsistencies in bug-tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).

● Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure features are testable.

● Advocate for software testing best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

● Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing clear feedback on quality and risk.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● 1-2 years of professional experience in a software testing or QA role.

● Demonstrable, hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end automation.

● Hands-on experience with a modern JavaScript testing framework like Vitest (or strong experience with Jest).

● Solid understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an exceptional eye for detail.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Nice to Have

● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

● Experience with API testing (e.g., using Postman or automated scripts).

● Basic knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.

● ISTQB certification or similar qualification.

Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contractual / Temporary

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
