Job Description

The Junior Application developer creates and executes project plans, specifications, develops and manages multiple concurrent projects; enhancing the experience of our users - both on and off-site; and ensures quality and consistency across mobile product lines. You will be trained on mobile technologies, user experience, and interaction design, with a desire to stay on top of new capabilities, operating systems, and devices.

Primary Responsibility:

Acting as Android developer
Coding, Coding and Coding. Please dont apply if you are not interested in extreme coding.
Deliver across the entire app life cycle -concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.
Working directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products
Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions

Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects
Working along the web developers to create and maintain a robust framework to support the apps.
Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experience.
Standardize the platform and in some cases apps to deliver across multiple brands with minimal duplication of effort .
Optimize performance for the apps.
Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile technologies.

Desired Skills and Experience :

Coding on all tiers of the application
Understanding of Algorithms, Data Structures, Object-Oriented design and Systems Architecture
Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decision
Understanding of XHTML / HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, or other Web technologies.
Ability to multi task and good time management skills
Ability to work on their own and as a part of the team
Excellent testing/ QA skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with various departments locally and internationally

Software Application Developer requirements

Experience/ Knowledge on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
Experience/ knowledge of development using web technologies
Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax and PHP
Good understanding of OO programming and design patterns
Experience building web and native apps
Experience using social media APIs
Using GIT version control Excellent debugging and optimization skills
PHP frameworks (e.g. Zend, code Ignitor), PHP template engines (e.g. Smarty)
Knowledge of WordPress
Mobile development experience bonus.
