Junior Research Fellow

As a Hydrologist at NeoGeoInfo Technologies Limited in Guwahati, your role involves overseeing hydrological data collection and integration with the GIS team. You will be responsible for gathering and inputting field data into the GIS laboratory and SEOC/DEOC/CEOC. Your knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS) and hydrological modelling software (HEC Suite) will be essential in compiling and presenting hydrological data from various sources. Key responsibilities include: - Researching and utilizing global hydrological data/products - Monitoring data and preparing reports on hazards - Collaborating with SEOC on flood management operations, available 24/7 - Preparing customized reports and Standard Operating Procedures - Integrating hydrological, geological, and meteorological data into GIS - Modeling and communicating the hydrogeology/hydrology of Assam - Developing scenarios and providing hydrologic support for projects To qualify for this position, you should have a First Class Masters in Geology, Earth/Environmental Science, or a Bachelors in Civil Engineering. Additionally, you should have 9-10 years of experience in hydrological assessment or flood risk management. Your proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS) and hydrological modelling software (HEC Suite) will be crucial for this role.
