Job Summary: We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join our growing company and support our existing data team. In this role, you will work closely with senior analysts to collect, analyze, and visualize data that drives key business decisions. You will use your skills in Python, SQL, and data visualization to transform raw data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection & Cleaning: Gather data from various sources, including internal databases and third-party platforms (such as Keen and SendGrid), and perform data cleaning and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability Data Analysis: Use Python and statistical techniques to analyze datasets, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and generate insights under the guidance of senior data team members Reporting & Visualization: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI to effectively communicate data findings to stakeholders across the organization SQL Querying: Write, optimize, and execute SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases for ongoing analysis and ad-hoc requests Collaboration: Work closely with the data team and cross-functional departments (e.g., marketing, product, engineering) to understand data needs and support various projects with data-driven insights Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity by conducting thorough quality checks on analyses and reports, and troubleshoot data issues in collaboration with the team Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with analytics best practices and emerging data tools, and proactively suggest improvements to data processes and workflows Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) Experience: Approximately 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role. Internship experience and relevant academic projects will be considered Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python for data analysis (including libraries such as pandas and NumPy) and scripting. Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data in relational databases Data Visualization: Experience creating reports and interactive dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools Analytical Ability: Solid understanding of data analysis techniques and basic statistical concepts. Capable of interpreting data, identifying trends, and drawing actionable conclusions Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to explain data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with others, and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously Adaptability: Eagerness to learn new tools and methodologies. Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup setting and adapting to changing priorities Nice to Have: Experience with Keen (analytics platform) and SendGrid (email delivery platform) Familiarity with cloud data services or platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data storage/processing tools Exposure to big data tools and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) or data warehousing solutions Knowledge of additional programming or scripting languages (e.g., R, Java) and related data science tools Experience with advanced Excel functions or Google Sheets for data analysis tasks Basic understanding of machine learning or statistical modeling techniques
