· You will head your department and will be responsible for overall development and upkeep of your department. · You will submit an ‘Application for providing services’ & have to accept that they are overall responsible for any complications / complaints arising due to treatment, if any for your patients. · You have to inform the hospital authorities, in case you need any kind of help. · You shall mention clearly in their notes -> the diagnosis, line of treatment precautions & prognosis. They should explain the patient and their attendants in detail the disease pattern & the line of treatment and the estimated stay or treatment time. · In case of any special precautions / orders; you should instruct the Resident Doctors/Medical Officer or should inform to MD. · You should feel yourself concerned with the hospital and should be ready to provide your services in emergency / routine to the in-patients or OPD patients. · You will offer consultation to their patients during OPD hours & will be available for emergency consultation on call sent by Medical Officer on duty in casualty and indoor. · You will admit patients from OPD and A&E department under their care and will be responsible for their treatment plan & is execution by junior staff. · You will train residents & staff nurses working for them and their patients so that junior staff can execute their orders well for the benefits of patients. · You will be responsible for explaining to patients & their relatives about the diagnosis, prognosis, probable stay in hospital and approx. expenditure. · You will be responsible to ensure that a proper fully informed consent has been obtained from patient or you will be responsible for medico legal responsibilities and formalities related to your patient. (Admitted under You) · You will be responsible to ensure that proper record is maintained in indoor sheet more so in case of medico legal cases. You must check the MLR prepared by the & should be available for consultation his nearest adult relative in case of minor or unconscious patients. · You should be making arrangements for your substitutes in case of your absence whether short term or long term. The person’s (doing locum for consultant) telephone no. & mobile no. should be promptly displayed at front office / A&E department. · You are supposed to write down your notes in detail with your signatures put at the end.
