Responsibilities: Hardware Design & Development: Design, develop, and prototype new computer hardware components, sub-systems, or full systems, including circuit boards (PCBs), microprocessors, memory devices, input/output devices, and other related peripherals. Create detailed schematics, layouts, and technical specifications for hardware designs using industry-standard CAD/EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD, Allegro - specify the exact software your company uses ). Select appropriate components, materials, and manufacturing processes, considering factors like performance, cost, power consumption, size, and reliability. Prototyping & Testing: Build, assemble, and debug hardware prototypes. Conduct rigorous testing and validation of hardware components and systems for functionality, performance, durability, and reliability. Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers to identify and resolve hardware issues. Analyze test data, identify design flaws, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions. System Integration & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with software engineers, firmware developers, mechanical engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and overall system compatibility. Provide technical support and expertise to resolve hardware-related issues during development, production, and field deployment. Participate in design review meetings, offering valuable input and insights. Documentation & Standards: Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, schematics, PCB layouts, Bill of Materials (BOMs), test reports, and troubleshooting procedures. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IPC, IEEE), regulatory requirements (e.g., RoHS, CE, FCC), and internal quality procedures. Research & Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computer architecture, hardware technologies, industry trends, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI hardware, IoT devices). Research and evaluate new components, tools, and methodologies to enhance design efficiency and product capabilities. Production Oversight (if applicable): Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM) and assist in resolving production-related hardware issues. Communication: Communicate complex technical information clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical stakeholders). Fluency in Marathi and Hindi is beneficial for effective interaction with local team members and vendors. Excellent English proficiency is essential for technical documentation, global collaboration, and formal communication.
