Job Title:

Role Overview

DBT ELT Engineer

Must-Have Skills

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with
DBT (Data Build Tool)
in production environments.
Strong proficiency in
SQL
, including complex queries, window functions, and performance tuning.
Proven experience in
data warehouse
and
data mart design
(dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
Solid understanding of
ELT architecture
, data lineage, and modular transformation practices.
Familiarity with
Git
and collaborative development workflows.
Experience implementing
data quality checks
, unit testing, and documentation within DBT.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with
workflow orchestration tools
(e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
Exposure to
data visualization platforms
(e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Working knowledge of
Python
or other scripting languages.
Understanding of
CI/CD pipelines
and deployment automation.
Familiarity with
data governance
, metadata management, and privacy/security best practices.
Experience with
slowly changing dimensions (SCDs)
, surrogate keys, and data normalization techniques.
Knowledge of
business intelligence concepts
and how data models support reporting.
Experience in
Agile environments
and tools like JIRA.
