We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Engineer to oversee and manage the technical aspects of our construction projects. The Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all on-site activities align with engineering designs, specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a blend of strong technical knowledge, effective project management skills, and excellent communication. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Coordination: Review and interpret architectural and engineering plans, drawings, and specifications. Assist in the development of construction methodologies and project plans. Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of activities. Contribute to the creation of detailed project schedules and monitor progress against deadlines. Site Management and Supervision: Set out, level, and survey the site to accurately mark out locations for installations, both above and below ground. Supervise and monitor the daily activities of the site labor force and subcontractors, ensuring work is carried out according to plans and quality standards. Provide technical advice and guidance to on-site crews, resolving any unexpected technical difficulties or problems that may arise. Oversee the selection, requisition, and delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. Verify that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with specifications and relevant building codes. Implement and enforce quality control measures to prevent costly rework and ensure the longevity and safety of the finished structure. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Implement and enforce site health and safety protocols and government regulations. Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for on-site personnel. Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to minimize risks. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable construction practices. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all site engineering activities, including progress reports, site diaries, change orders, and quality control measures. Prepare reports with updates for project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, explaining project details and progress in a clear and concise manner. Compile estimates for technical and material requirements, and monitor project costs to ensure adherence to budget constraints. Problem-Solving and Technical Support: Act as the main technical advisor on the construction site. Proactively identify and resolve design and development problems or other technical issues that may arise during construction. Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Site Engineer in construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant building codes and regulations (e.g., Indian Building Code if in India). Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering plans, drawings, and specifications. Familiarity with surveying instruments (e.g., total station, EDM instruments). Competence in using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, project management software). A valid driver's license may be required. Additional certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)) are a plus. Skills: Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of engineering principles, construction processes, and design software. Project Management: Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to identify issues and devise effective solutions. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, architects, subcontractors, and site workers. Leadership: Ability to supervise, motivate, and guide on-site teams. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing plans, calculations, and on-site work to ensure accuracy and compliance. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and coordinate with various professionals. Commercial Awareness: Understanding of project costs, budget management, and negotiation skills with suppliers. Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic environment and respond effectively to unforeseen challenges.
