As an IT Desktop Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support for desktops, laptops, file/print servers, and data/telecommunications networks. You will be a hands-on Technician requiring technical expertise and strong communications and customer service management skills. You will help resolves issues with Windows, OSX, Office operations and desktop support and will regularly troubleshoot network issues pursuant to established procedures.
The IT Desktop Support Technician will serve as the primary point of contact for end users on a daily basis, addressing IT needs and services and representing the IT organization in a professional manner to ensure end-user satisfaction. Regular updates and issue escalations will be provided to the direct manager and to end-users, including senior management, in the local office. Communications skills are critical.
What does a great IT Desktop Support Technician do

Research, resolve, and respond to all customer issues and inquiries received via phone, email, or in person in accordance with current standards and procedures.

Deploy and re-image workstations (Mac & PC) for new and existing users ensuring all configurations meet company standards.

Troubleshoot workstation hardware and software problems; Perform hardware repairs when needed and escalate complex issues as required.

Maintain asset inventory of equipment for site (PCs, printers, servers, etc.) ensuring accurate recordkeeping.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of local office server room.

Configure and administer local phone system and coordinate wiring within network switch closet in accordance with established procedures.

Serve as go to person resource for all technology related issues.

Provide technical support for Macintosh hardware and OS and escalate issues as required.

Share job responsibilities and knowledge within the IT Team.

Develop basic research skills to stay updated on current and emerging trends in the computer industry and be able to apply them to business needs.

Assist with the management of virtual and physical server environments for offices following documented processes.

Manage and maintain office copiers and network printers

Answer limited number of support desk phone calls
Requirements for consideration

Background with Microsoft Server solutions, including Windows 2008/2012 Server, Active Directory, and TCP/IP experience is critical.

Must have experience supporting Apple Mac environments and Mac OSX.

Demonstrated experience with PC configurations and the installation/maintenance of desktop applications.

Experience with remote support solutions.

Experience with WAN/LAN hardware, racking of server and network equipment, and phone/network wiring.
