Job Purpose
With the support of the Investigations Manager and Senior Investigator, the Investigator (Unqualified) contributes to delivering individual investigation assignments and tasks.The role also requires study towards professional qualification. OIAI will fund study (using a distance learning model) towards a professional investigation qualification. The investigator (unqualified) will be expected to study in their own time but will be provided time off for exam preparation.The Investigator (Unqualified) will be given a departmental buddy, and where possible, an external mentor, who, in conjunction with their line manager, will work to support their professional study and personal development.
Investigations Delivery
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- With the support of the Investigations Manager, contribute to the delivery of investigations assignments and tasks, including gathering evidence, carrying out interviews, and drafting reports.
- Ensure assigned investigations are delivered to time and quality.
- Contribute to post investigation reviews into control failures.
- Support the work of OIAI’s internal and external audit team, as directed by the Head of Investigations.
Build effective relationships across IFRC and provide value-adding advisory services:
- Contribute to the delivery of OIAI advisory activities, with guidance from the Investigations Manager.
- Provide training and workshops to IFRC teams on assurance and integrity topics.
Act As An Effective And Inclusive Team Member
- Maintain relevant professional qualifications and complete the required continued professional development (CPD).
- Role model IFRC’s values and principles in day-to-day operations. Proactively work to create a safe and inclusive environment.
Deliver OIAI’s annual appeal activities and provide technical support to the membership:
- Contribute to the delivery of OIAI annual appeal activities.
- Provide training and workshops to National Society teams on assurance and integrity topics.
Education
University degree
Experience
Experience in working for a humanitarian, charitable or not-for-profit organisation.International experience Prior international experience in investigations will be considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills And Languages
Fluent spoken and written English.Good command of another IFRC language (Arabic, French, or Spanish)Ability to communicate clearly and effectivelyAbility to gather, analyse, and evaluate facts, and prepare and present concise oral and written reports.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the organisation.Ability to prioritise and organise workload
