Job Title: International Business Development Manager

Job Summary

The International Business Development Manager will lead global market expansion initiatives, build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth across international regions. The role requires a strong blend of commercial strategy, cross-cultural communication, and hands-on execution to strengthen the company’s presence in key global markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market Expansion & Strategy

  • Identify, research, and evaluate new international markets, trends, and business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement market entry strategies such as partnerships, joint ventures, or direct sales channels.
  • Adapt business strategies to align with cultural, economic, and regulatory environments in each target region.

2. Partnership & Relationship Management

  • Build and manage relationships with international clients, distributors, agents, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and global business forums.
  • Lead negotiations on agreements, contracts, and partnership terms.

3. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Drive international sales targets and support overall business growth objectives.
  • Develop region-specific pricing strategies, proposals, and tender submissions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on global sales performance.

4. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, standards, and trade requirements.
  • Oversee documentation related to exports, imports, and cross-border operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with political, financial, and regulatory environments.

5. Cross-Cultural Leadership

  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, legal, finance) to ensure seamless execution of international initiatives.
  • Provide cultural insights to support product, service, and marketing adaptation.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of international representatives, where necessary.

6. Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis

  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and assess market entry challenges.
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform leadership decisions and strategic planning.
  • Monitor global economic and industry trends impacting business opportunities.

7. Project & Budget Management

  • Manage budgets for international expansion and business development projects.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure strong return on investment (ROI) for international initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • MBA or other postgraduate business qualification is an added advantage.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • At least 10 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or managerial role.
  • Experience working in international markets is highly desirable.
