Role Summary

As a GIS Intern, you will be the first point of contact with the drone data. You will have to analyse the data and see that resources are being utilised efficiently while ensuring constant innovation in the processes. We are looking for a person who enjoys empowering others and creating an environment where productivity and creativity can flourish in tandem; someone who can handle a deadline, and keep their composure even when things aren’t going their way.

You will get to learn new things across domains and gain a fine-grained understanding of all things related to Geographic Information Systems. You will get to employ workflows that improve efficiency and reduce complexity, and eventually apply all of these at scale.

Responsibilities

Core Functions

• 
  Take part in photogrammetric processing of UAV data sets, digitisation of assets and other data analysis as per the requirements of the customer.
• Construct workflows that allow GIS technicians to work at maximum efficiency.
• Contributing to refining and improving existing process flows while keeping up to date with all the latest software and technology in the space.
• Handling clients in explaining the technicalities of drone surveys and their outputs.

Key Competencies/Skills

Mandatory Skills

• 
  Familiarity with geospatial processing software like QGIS, ArcGIS Global Mapper etc.
• Comfortable with GIS technologies and processes.
• Open to learning new technologies and methodologies.
• Familiarity with the photogrammetry process is an added advantage.
• Comfortable working in a low monitoring/guidance environment.
• Strong sense of initiative, ownership, urgency and drive.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and a good team player.

Desired Skills

• 
  Knowledge of ISMS/ISO 27001.

Qualifications

• 
  Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Civil / Geoinformatics.
• Students in the final semester of a related Bachelor’s’/Master’s programme are welcome to apply.
• 0-1 year of experience in the field of Remote sensing and GIS demonstrating a good track record.
