Job Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic Intermediate Backend Java Developer to join our growing team. You will be part of a team focused on building and maintaining scalable backend systems using Java and modern frameworks. Key Responsibilities Development & Implementation: Develop backend components and RESTful APIs using Java. Work within a microservices architecture to integrate various services. Assist in modernising legacy systems to ensure compliance with current standards. Security & Quality: Adhere to secure coding practices and ensure robust application security. Assist in implementing authentication, authorisation, and encryption protocols. Contribute to the creation of technical documentation. Team Collaboration: Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions. Collaborate with senior team members to understand and implement best practices. Work closely with stakeholders to transform requirements into technical solutions. Technical Requirements Backend Development: Solid experience with Java (preferably Java 17 as well as an awareness of Java 21 LTS features) Familiarity with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Framework 6.x with Jakarta EE Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. Understanding of microservices and containerisation (Docker). Database & Infrastructure: Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and basic exposure to NoSQL databases. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Security Practices: Basic understanding of secure coding principles and best practices (OWASP guidelines). Experience with authentication and authorisation mechanisms. Core Requirements Experience: 2-4 years of professional Java development.
