Job Description: Instrumentation & Automation Engineer Position : Instrumentation & Automation Engineer Location : Chennai Salary : 3 LPA - 3.6 LPA Experience Required : 0-4 years Qualification : BE in Electrical (EEE / ECE) Job Overview: As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes for our analytical instruments, furnaces, and material processing equipment. You will work closely with our engineering team to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and performance of our products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and creativity. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and Development: Develop and design automation systems for furnaces and analytical instruments. Create and implement control algorithms for automated processes. Design electrical, mechanical, and software components to support automation systems. 2. Programming and Configuration: Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and other control systems. Configure and program HMI (Human Machine Interface) for user interaction with automation systems. Develop and maintain SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for monitoring and controlling manufacturing processes. 3. System Integration: Integrate automation systems with existing manufacturing processes and equipment. Ensure seamless communication between different control systems and equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve integrated system solutions. 4. Testing and Validation: Perform testing and validation of automation systems to ensure functionality and reliability. Conduct simulations and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues. Validate system performance against design specifications and customer requirements. 5. Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support for automation systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time to minimize downtime. Implement system upgrades and updates to improve performance and reliability. 6. Documentation: Create detailed documentation for automation systems, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance guides. Maintain records of system configurations, changes, and updates. 7. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all automation systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Implement safety protocols and fail-safes to protect equipment and personnel. 8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements. Implement innovative solutions to enhance automation capabilities and productivity. Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends. 9. Project Management: Lead and manage automation projects from conception to completion. Coordinate with stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to achieve project goals. 10. Training and Development: Train staff on the operation and maintenance of automation systems. Develop training materials and conduct workshops to enhance team knowledge and skills in automation technologies. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in designing and implementing automation systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, C++, Python, or similar. Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, LabVIEW, and other automation technologies. Experience with Siemens and Omron PLC programming is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
