India International Trade Operation Lead

The Equipment, Technology, and Services group of Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking an India International Trade Operation Lead to manage international commerce activities in India. ITC activity is critical to maintain compliance with local and international regulations and to ensure our long-term success.

This role will be responsible for operating the company's international trade activities and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to the import and export of goods, technology, and services across global markets.

The preference is to be located in Vadodara, India.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with customs brokers and manage relationship with local customs authorities. Liaise with government agencies (customs, export control authorities) and respond to inquiries or investigations. Responsible for the India international trade operations and manage broker/ 3PL partners along with global logistics teams.
• Classification and duties. Correctly classify products under appropriate tariff codes (e.g., Harmonized System codes). Optimize subcontractor strategy to include duty optimization.
• Partner with corporate compliance teams, manage import and export process, Broker Letters of Instruction, and Shippers' Letters of Instruction with 100% complying laws and regulation. Applying innovative approaches to accelerating logistics and international trade operation aspects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of customs rules and regulations, as well as a thorough understanding of IGST/GST rules and regulations, FTA & CoO related matters, and other DGFT related rules and regulations
• Monitor and Interpret Regulations / monitoring changes in trade laws. Develop knowledge network by seeking, best knowledge and share that with other teams, keeping a sense of urgency as they help us challenge the current state with a goal of constantly improving and transforming international trade strategy. Ensure adherence to export controls, import regulations, sanctions, embargoes, and customs laws. Stay updated on changes in trade regulations from authorities
• Managing import/export documentation & Record-Keeping (RIM). Maintain accurate and complete records of all import/export transactions for audits and investigations.
• Develop and Implement Compliance Programs / Promote a Culture of Compliance / training. Conduct training sessions for employees on trade compliance requirements and best practices.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Minimum 8+ years of experience & 3+ years' experience in international trade with a working knowledge of import/export regulations preferred.
• Experience managing customs brokers and other 3rd party trade-related service providers.
• Strong level of organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize data to drive action and influence.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in a steel and/or stainless-based manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Working experience in an engineering-to-order manufacturing company is a plus.
