The Fabrication Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and optimizing manufacturing and fabrication processes to ensure high-quality production of components and assemblies. This role works closely with design, production, and quality teams to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with engineering and safety standards. Process Development & Optimization Design, implement, and refine fabrication processes (e.g., machining, welding, sheet-metal forming, additive manufacturing, composite layup). Develop manufacturing instructions, process flows, and specifications. Evaluate new tools, technologies, and equipment to improve production efficiency. Production Support Troubleshoot fabrication issues on the shop floor and provide technical guidance. Collaborate with machinists, welders, and technicians to resolve production bottlenecks. Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs). Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Experience with fabrication processes such as CNC machining, welding, sheet metal, composites, or additive manufacturing. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, Mastercam). Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
