Job Description

Job Summary

The Import Executive is responsible for managing all import activities, ensuring timely clearance of goods, coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role ensures compliance with import regulations and supports smooth supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Import Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and verify all import-related documents such as invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, COO, and HS codes.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and government policies.
  • Coordinate with CHA (Custom House Agents) for clearance procedures.
  • Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of import documents.

2. Shipment Coordination

  • Track shipments from origin to destination.
  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders for timely dispatch and delivery.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays or issues.

3. Customs & Logistics Management

  • Follow up for customs clearance, duty payments, inspections, and port handling.
  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and delivery of imported goods.
  • Ensure timely delivery to warehouse or customer location.

4. Supplier & Vendor Coordination

  • Communicate with international suppliers for order updates, document accuracy, and shipment planning.
  • Negotiate freight rates, delivery schedules, and terms with logistics partners.
  • Manage vendor relationships for smooth operations.

5. Internal Coordination

  • Work with accounts for duty payment, billing, and related financial documentation.
  • Collaborate with purchase, production, and warehouse teams to align import timelines with requirements.

6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain import tracking sheets and MIS reports.
  • Analyse import costs, lead times, and performance metrics.
  • Highlight discrepancies, delays, or cost-overruns.

Qualifications & SkillsEducational Qualification

  • Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
  • Diploma/certification in import-export preferred.

Experience

  • 1–4 years of experience in import operations, logistics, or supply chain.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of import procedures, documentation, and INCOTERMS.
  • Familiarity with HS Codes and customs regulations.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems.
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
